Hi there! I'm a Postdoctoral Researcher in Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley in the Pickering Lab. My goal is to improve health and quality of life in underserved and vulnerable populations such as low-income agricultural communities, people experiencing homelessness, and women & children in low-income countries. Through community-engaged research, I aim to reduce exposures to harmful pathogens in the environment and prevent the spread of drug-resistant bacteria and soil-transmitted helminths, leading causes of child illness and mortality.

I'm currently leading research on environmental surveillance of soil-transmitted helminths in Benin & India in partnership with the Deworm3 studyI also work with community & environmental justice leaders to protect our waterways, soil, and air by reducing pollution from commercial food-animal production, a major source of environmental contamination and drug-resistant bacteria.

I received my PhD in Environmental Health Sciences at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. My dissertation research integrated methods in environmental, spatial, and molecular epidemiology to identify risk factors of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in communities of Quito, Ecuador. I was selected as an NIH Biomedical Big Data Fellow and received the Llewellyn Student Project Award from the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health.

To de-stress, I enjoy trail running, playing soccer, watching GBBO, and paddle boarding with my dog.
